Price for Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Bangladesh (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average aluminium waste and scrap import price amounted to $1,024 per ton, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 41%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,123 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($1,683 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($336 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Costa Rica (+13.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average aluminium waste and scrap export price amounted to $1,744 per ton, rising by 13% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aluminium waste and scrap export price increased by +24.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 37%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,906 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($3,981 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($757 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports of Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Bangladesh

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of aluminium waste and scraps decreased by -46.9% to 9K tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern.
