Price for Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Guatemala (FOB) - 2024

The average aluminium waste and scrap export price stood at $844 per ton in April 2024, rising by 5.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2023 an increase of 27% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $1,047 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to April 2024, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was China ($1,598 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($134 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
