In June 2023, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite import price amounted to $636 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 29% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $651 per ton. From October 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Peru ($651 per ton) and South Africa ($649 per ton), while the price for the United States ($614 per ton) and France ($648 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite export price amounted to $686 per ton, jumping by 38% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($915 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($268 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
