Price for Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in India (CIF) - 2023
The average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite import price stood at $615 per ton in July 2023, surging by 1.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $682 per ton. From June 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($790 per ton), while the price for the United States ($525 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite export price amounted to $339 per ton, increasing by 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a notable expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 68%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($432 per ton), while the average price for exports to Nepal ($164 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kenya (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of decline, overseas purchases of andalusite, kyanite and sillimanites increased by 20% to 15K tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a drastic downturn.
