In 2022, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite export price amounted to $407 per ton, which is down by -2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 28%. The export price peaked at $415 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($623 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($268 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price peaked at $575 per ton in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($603 per ton), while the price for the United States stood at $367 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (-1.7%).
