Price for Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite import price amounted to $773 per ton, increasing by 10% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 66% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $975 per ton. From December 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,247 per ton), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($388 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite export price amounted to $1,495 per ton, shrinking by -40.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 203% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2,713 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Slovakia.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Slovakia amounted to -0.3% per year.

Imports of Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in the Czech Republic

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of andalusite, kyanite and sillimanites decreased by -26.2% to 6.3K tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 33% against the previous year.

In value terms, andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite imports reduced dramatically to $3.9M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 43% against the previous year.

In 2022, overseas shipments of andalusite, kyanite and sillimanites were finally on the rise to reach 17 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage.

In value terms, andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite exports surged to $25K in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a abrupt decrease.
