Price for Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite import price amounted to $585 per ton, surging by 1.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 25% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $623 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($732 per ton), while the price for France ($473 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite export price stood at $536 per ton in June 2023, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 40% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $640 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($1,149 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($268 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in the Netherlands
In 2022, the amount of andalusite, kyanite and sillimanites imported into the Netherlands shrank sharply to 7.5K tons, which is down by -21.8% on the year before. Overall, imports saw a deep downturn. The smallest decline of -7.9% was in 2020.
In value terms, andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite imports fell to $4.2M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a deep reduction. The smallest decline of -3.7% was in 2020.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 156%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 9.3K tons, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
In value terms, andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite exports fell remarkably to $2.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 141%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $4.3M, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
