The average export price for antibiotics; tetracyclines and their derivatives; salts thereoves stood at $31,147 per ton in September 2023, declining by -2.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 4.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $33,826 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($89,356 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($14,744 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+11.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, import price for antibiotics; tetracyclines and their derivatives; salts thereoves increased by +68.0% against July 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 52% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1.6M per ton in April 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2023.
