The average import price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes stood at $980 per ton in June 2023, rising by 14% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated pronounced growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, apples, pears and quinces; fresh import price increased by +26.1% against January 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 28% month-to-month. The import price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($1,333 per ton), while the price for Serbia stood at $755 per ton.
