The average import price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes stood at $668 per ton in 2022, waning by -7.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a pronounced slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $964 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

The average export price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes stood at $393 per ton in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 94% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $480 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Togo ($1,735 per ton), while the average price for exports to Burkina Faso ($347 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Togo (+17.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Apples, Pears and Quinces; Fresh in Ghana
