In 2022, the average import price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes amounted to $1,315 per ton, picking up by 13% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 562%. The import price peaked at $14,477 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from the United States ($1,607 per ton) and Spain ($1,318 per ton), while the price for Italy ($1,191 per ton) and France ($1,192 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
