In 2022, the average import price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes amounted to $546 per ton, dropping by -14.7% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($2,503 per ton), while the price for Romania ($160 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes stood at $961 per ton in June 2023, growing by 8.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate tangible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 74% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $972 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Austria amounted to +23.8% per month.
