In June 2023, the average import price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes amounted to $1,282 per ton, which is down by -15.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 31% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,510 per ton, and then fell sharply in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($1,670 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($1,027 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
