The average export price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes stood at $754 per ton in 2022, rising by 2.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 5.5%. The export price peaked at $1,005 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($2,520 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($369 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+9.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
