The average import price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes stood at $1,346 per ton in 2022, which is down by -23.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 640%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,354 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($2,408 per ton), while the price for North Macedonia ($402 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes amounted to $1,062 per ton, declining by -9.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 602% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $9,859 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($2,279 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($527 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes decreased by -2.5% to 16K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +24.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -2.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 97%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 16K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes reduced notably to $21M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a dramatic decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 18%.

For the fourth year in a row, Hungary recorded growth in shipments abroad of apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes, which increased by 7.6% to 19K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +54.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 29%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, exports of apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes dropped to $20M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a dramatic slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 4.6% against the previous year.
