In March 2022, the average import price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes amounted to $3,868 per ton, with a decrease of -51.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2021 an increase of 142% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $15,684 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to March 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($5,353 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($1,514 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 63%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,485 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($1,391 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($263 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
