In August 2023, the average import price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes amounted to $2,714 per ton, falling by -20% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, posted a measured increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 77% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,643 per ton. From June 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3,156 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($1,484 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+7.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes stood at $3,123 per ton in 2022, growing by 9.6% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes increased by +84.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($3,239 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($2,908 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
