In July 2023, the average import price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes amounted to $2,280 per ton, dropping by -48.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 211% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,052 per ton. From June 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,614 per ton), while the price for Spain totaled $1,938 per ton.
From April 2023 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (-6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
