In September 2023, the average import price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes amounted to $964 per ton, with a decrease of -31% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 11% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,892 per ton. From May 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,955 per ton), while the price for Moldova ($263 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 22% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,135 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,595 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($499 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (-6.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
