In September 2023, the average import price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes amounted to $964 per ton, with a decrease of -31% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 11% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,892 per ton. From May 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,955 per ton), while the price for Moldova ($263 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
