In August 2023, the average import price for apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and sloes, freshes amounted to $1,986 per ton, reducing by -9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, posted a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 112% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,461 per ton. From June 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($3,177 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,891 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The export price peaked at $3,376 per ton in July 2023, and then reduced in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($3,998 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland amounted to $2,244 per ton.

From April 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+74.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
