Price for Article of Natural Cork in Nepal (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average article of natural cork import price amounted to $16,225 per ton, picking up by 8.4% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +10.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, article of natural cork import price increased by +50.4% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 71%. The import price peaked at $16,555 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($30,515 per ton), while the price for India ($3,904 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+32.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Article of Natural Cork in Nepal
For the third consecutive year, Nepal recorded decline in overseas purchases of articles of natural cork, which decreased by -5.5% to 497 kg in 2022. Overall, imports showed a deep setback. The smallest decline of -4.4% was in 2021.
In value terms, article of natural cork imports rose slightly to $8.1K in 2022. In general, imports recorded a perceptible decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 2.5%.
