The average import price for articles of apparel and clothing accessories, of leather or of composition leather stood at $20.0 per unit in December 2023, increasing by 2.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 42% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $26.5 per unit in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($111 per unit), while the price for Turkey ($11.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for articles of apparel and clothing accessories, of leather or of composition leather stood at $21 per unit in 2022, rising by 12% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($40 per unit), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+18.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 47%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $6.2M, and then contracted in the following year.
