Price for Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Belgium (CIF) - 2023
The average books, brochures and leaflets import price stood at $7,607 per ton in June 2023, reducing by -34.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 32% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $13,534 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($29,450 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($2,930 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average books, brochures and leaflets export price amounted to $3,413 per ton, increasing by 7.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, faced a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 25% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $11,189 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($15,132 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($864 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (-3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Belgium
In 2022, the amount of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter imported into Belgium declined sharply to 24K tons, with a decrease of -41% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports recorded a precipitous shrinkage. The smallest decline of -5.8% was in 2020.
In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets imports dropped sharply to $229M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 56% against the previous year.

In general, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 180% against the previous year.
In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets exports fell rapidly to $87M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 120% against the previous year.
