Price for Brass Tubes and Pipes in Turkey (FOB) - 2022
The average brass tubes and pipes export price stood at $8,396 per ton in 2022, increasing by 1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 36%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Germany ($8,392 per ton) and Italy ($8,206 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($7,738 per ton) and Spain ($7,967 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average brass tubes and pipes import price amounted to $9,704 per ton, increasing by 2.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 35% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $15,163 per ton. From December 2022 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($19,384 per ton), while the price for Poland ($7,011 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Brass Tubes and Pipes in Turkey
In 2022, shipments abroad of tubes and pipes of copper-zinc base alloys (brass) decreased by -44.8% to 681 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 86%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 1.5K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +69.5% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
