In 2022, the average import price for briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels; manufactured from coals amounted to $401 per ton, reducing by -2.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 76% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $873 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,577 per ton), while the price for India ($198 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+13.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels; manufactured from coals decreased by -10% to 195 tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 229%.

In value terms, imports of briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels; manufactured from coals fell to $78K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 262% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $90K, and then contracted in the following year.
