Price for Broad Bean and Horse Bean in India (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average import price for broad beans and horse beans (dry) amounted to $431 per ton, shrinking by -2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 9.8% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $546 per ton. From November 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Australia.
From September 2022 to July 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Australia amounted to -1.4% per month.

The average export price for broad beans and horse beans (dry) stood at $634 per ton in July 2023, waning by -41.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 49% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,208 per ton. From June 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($1,786 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($361 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sri Lanka (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
