In 2022, the average import price for bromides; of sodium or of potassia amounted to $7,357 per ton, surging by 3.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for bromides; of sodium or of potassia increased by +20.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 69%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $7,960 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($52,190 per ton), while the price for Austria ($2,674 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+19.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for bromides; of sodium or of potassia stood at $3,000 per ton in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 15%. The export price peaked at $3,226 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Kazakhstan amounted to +34.9% per year.
Imports of Bromides; of Sodium or of Potassium in Belarus
In 2022, the amount of bromides; of sodium or of potassia imported into Belarus rose slightly to 56 tons, growing by 4.7% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, recorded a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 7.6% against the previous year.
