The average export price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses stood at $406 per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 9.6%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $698 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($459 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($399 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
