The average export price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses stood at $773 per ton in 2022, jumping by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 158% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,000 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($1,438 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($314 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses stood at $966 per ton in March 2022, waning by -2.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2021 an increase of 520% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $4,694 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to March 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Peru ($1,912 per ton), while the price for Russia totaled $901 per ton.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+15.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas shipments of buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses decreased by -42% to 1.5K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth.
