The average import price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses stood at $502 per ton in October 2023, waning by -26.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 251% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,175 per ton. From April 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($2,928 per ton), while the price for Ukraine amounted to $340 per ton.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average export price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses amounted to $4,281 per ton, with an increase of 906% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a strong expansion. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $4,739 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Serbia.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Croatia amounted to +15.4% per month.
