In 2022, the average export price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses amounted to $166 per ton, reducing by -40.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 61%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $309 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Kenya ($179 per ton) and the United States ($131 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uganda ($129 per ton) and Italy ($131 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kenya (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
