In November 2023, the average export price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses amounted to $950 per ton, waning by -17.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 541% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,780 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($2,554 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkmenistan ($180 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+58.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
