In July 2023, the average butter and dairy spreads import price amounted to $5,667 per ton, with a decrease of -6.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $6,992 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($7,523 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($4,495 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In July 2023, the average butter and dairy spreads export price amounted to $4,289 per ton, which is down by -8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 44% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $7,945 per ton. From January 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Cyprus ($8,631 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($2,575 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cyprus (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
