The average butter and dairy spreads import price stood at $7,654 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -5.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 5.6% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $9,773 per ton. From November 2022 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the countries with the highest prices were France ($9,529 per ton) and Ireland ($7,838 per ton), while the price for India ($6,928 per ton) and New Zealand ($7,146 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
