In October 2023, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $2,923 per ton, surging by 66% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated noticeable growth from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds increased by +65.8% against August 2023 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($4,067 per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($1,688 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $1,193 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -5.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,442 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,614 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($568 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas shipments of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds decreased by -10.2% to 159K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 14%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 177K tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds contracted dramatically to $200M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $255M, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds soared to $46M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a mild slump.
