In July 2023, the average export price for candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery amounted to $5,452 per ton, surging by 2.9% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 8% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $5,467 per ton in May 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($8,969 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($3,098 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average import price for candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery amounted to $4,214 per ton, dropping by -5.2% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 22% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,614 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($6,519 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($2,484 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+12.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Candy, Sweets, and Nonchocolate Confectionery in Poland
In 2022, approx. 129K tons of candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery were exported from Poland; with an increase of 10% compared with 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
