The average import price for carbides; of silicon, whether or not chemically defineds stood at $1,314 per ton in November 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2023 when the average import price increased by 5.6% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,683 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($3,048 per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($1,894 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
