In May 2023, the average import price for cattle; live, pure-bred breeding animalses amounted to $1,468 per unit, dropping by -31.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 30% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,146 per unit, and then contracted remarkably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,775 per unit), while the price for Kyrgyzstan ($380 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
