The average import price for caviar (salmon) and caviar substitutes stood at $21,139 per ton in 2022, rising by 14% against the previous year. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Romania.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Finland amounted to -4.6% per year.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of caviar (salmon) and caviar substitutes, when their volume decreased by -58.2% to 28 tons. In general, imports, however, enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 155%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 67 tons, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
