The average export price for cellulose ethers; (other than carboxymethylcellulose and its salts), in primary formses stood at $7,636 per ton in December 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 3.3% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $7,862 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($9,187 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($3,889 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
