Price for Cement of Hydraulic Kinds in Japan (FOB) - 2023
The average cement of hydraulic kinds export price stood at $726 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -6.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 11% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $792 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was India ($1,021 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($518 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average cement of hydraulic kinds import price stood at $967 per ton in 2022, which is down by -5.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 62% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,177 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($967 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($956 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (-1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
