Price for Cereal Flour; of Maize (Corn) in Colombia (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for cereal flour; of maize (corn) stood at $797 per ton in February 2022, dropping by -3.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2021 an increase of 6.2% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $826 per ton in January 2022, and then contracted in the following month.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In February 2022, the countries with the highest prices were the United States ($992 per ton) and Costa Rica ($952 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($694 per ton) and Peru ($748 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Peru (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,297 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+84.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
