Price for Cereal Flour; of Maize (Corn) in Uganda (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average export price for cereal flour; of maize (corn) amounted to $272 per ton, which is down by -13.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $349 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,330 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($167 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Burundi (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
