The average import price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin stood at $524 per ton in 2022, surging by 31% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $559 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,702 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($416 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin stood at $603 per ton in October 2023, dropping by -11.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 8.7% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $760 per ton. From February 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Cyprus ($1,076 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($583 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Greece
In 2022, purchases abroad of cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin decreased by -32.8% to 20K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 93%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 29K tons, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
