The average import price for cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of cereals excluding barley and oatses stood at $1,018 per ton in 2022, which is down by -14.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, enjoyed a noticeable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 268%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,631 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,501 per ton), while the price for Romania ($334 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of cereals excluding barley and oatses amounted to $1,147 per ton, reducing by -5.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 56% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,218 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($1,941 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($853 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 475 tons, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, imports of cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of cereals excluding barley and oatses contracted rapidly to $454K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 53% against the previous year.
