The average export price for cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of oatses stood at $863 per ton in September 2023, leveling off at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 3.9% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $921 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($1,237 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($590 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of oatses amounted to $850 per ton, with an increase of 15% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $864 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Finland ($1,055 per ton) and Angola ($911 per ton), while the price for Estonia ($734 per ton) and Germany ($796 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, exports of cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of oatses rose rapidly to $35M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +9.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
