In August 2023, the average export price for cereals; barley, other than seeds amounted to $248 per ton, dropping by -2.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 4.4% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $275 per ton. From July 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($252 per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway stood at $189 per ton.
From March 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Algeria (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In August 2023, the average import price for cereals; barley, other than seeds amounted to $264 per ton, rising by 3.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 3.7% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $347 per ton. From July 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the UK.
From March 2023 to August 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Denmark amounted to +2.8% per month.
