The average export price for cereals; barley, other than seeds stood at $228 per ton in August 2023, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 4.8% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $279 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Israel ($237 per ton) and Qatar ($236 per ton), while the average price for exports to Jordan ($218 per ton) and Morocco ($227 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cereals; barley, other than seeds stood at $294 per ton in 2022, growing by 30% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 31%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Sweden ($389 per ton) and Denmark ($386 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($267 per ton) and Moldova ($274 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
