The average export price for cereals; barley, other than seeds stood at $238 per ton in August 2023, rising by 8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a deep setback. The export price peaked at $313 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($315 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for cereals; barley, other than seeds stood at $252 per ton in August 2023, growing by 4.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a abrupt descent. The import price peaked at $387 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($231 per ton), while the price for Poland totaled $164 per ton.
