Price for Cereals; Grain Sorghum, Other than Seed in India (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average export price for cereals; grain sorghum, other than seeds amounted to $410 per ton, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 14% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $455 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($501 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($325 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In general, the import price continues to indicate a significant expansion. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
